Becoming an Active Traveler
I thank (or blame) my parents for my love of travel. Growing up, every summer we went to a different city and/or state. Granted, it was for a national accounting convention, but I didn’t have to go to the meetings… I just got to enjoy the fun, touristy experience. It wasn’t all accounting conventions–we headed to Hawaii twice for fun and hit up LA for a very Hollywood experience.
Next up came Spring 2006, when I first became introduced to international travel. I was a junior in college, and a Spanish major who had never left the country (unless we’re counting Puerto Rico). After only a few days in Spain, I was in love. I enjoyed everything about being abroad.
