Hiking and Camping in Girón

I took a camping trip to Girón last month. To begin the journey, we went to the bus terminal in Cuenca, called Terminal Terrestre, to take a bus to the Girón/El Chorro area. The bus trip takes one hour and costs about $2.00. El Chorro waterfalls are a known attraction in this area. Once we arrived, we began hiking up to the area where we wanted to camp (in a clearing just beneath a waterfall). We passed a lot of cows along the way.

After we set up camp, we hiked up a pretty intense trail to see the beautiful waterfalls.

After the sun went down, we sat by a fire and listened the sound of the waterfall behind us. It is always nice to get out of the city, breathe fresh air, and enjoy peace and quiet.
