Battlefield television series in the works at Paramount


EA’s shooter series is coming to drama

Electronic Arts and DICE’s Battlefield series is being adapted for television by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content, the company behind TV series Mr. Robot, True Detective and The Knick.

Michael Sugar, who won an Academy Award for the film Spotlight, and Ashley Zalta from Anonymous Content will serve as executive producers on the Battlefield project.

Details on the planned show are slight — rights to Battlefield have just been optioned — but Paramount TV president Amy Powell praised the first-person shooter franchise for its “incredibly dynamic narrative” in a release.
