Full Steam Ahead! – Crime Wheel

Ver. Spot - Justin's Writing and Game Dev Blog

With mystery being a heavy theme in Full Steam Ahead! I wanted there to be a way for GM’s to be able to come up with crimes that involves multiple suspects and a way for them to keep track of it all easily. For anyone that’s ever ran a game with a more complex mystery in it, you know this can sometimes be difficult.

So after doing some research and watching a whole bunch of murder mysteries (gotta love Miss Fisher), I came up with the crime wheel. Much like Smallville relationship mechanic, the crime wheel lists all the NPCs that are related to the crime, the character or characters that actually performed the crime, how people are connected and by what. I’m going to go through this step-by-step and some of this may change int he future since I haven’t had a chance to use it in play yet.
