The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I’m actually interested in this game.

I decided to test my fancy new PC this past week with an actual modern game, instead of the creaky stuff I’ve been playing up until now. My friends have been extolling the virtues of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and I realized that I have been missing a good open-world RPG, especially one that’s reputedly as mature-themed as this.

As with Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls series, The Witcher 3 marks my initial entry into an established franchise, so I lack any real references for the characters and lore. I’m playing the game about as “blind” as it’s possible to get. I will say that my initial thoughts will be based on the comparison between those two games, so if I tread on any sacred cows, I apologize in advance. For reference, as of this writing I’m about 26 hours in, level 13, and traipsing through Velen.
